Welcome to the internet site of De Doggershoek !

RIJ De Doggershoek is a dutch juvenile justice centre in Den Helder that operates under the Department of Justice in the Netherlands. De Doggershoek is a custodial facility for up to 168 youths, boys and girls. Young people can be placed in De Doggershoek both under criminal law as under civil law.

In De Doggershoek we work according to the competence enlargement model. Problem behaviour is addressed as inability. To achieve acceptable behaviour our boys and girls are taught social skills.

Through our website we would like to inform anyone who is interested in De Doggershoek. It is also possible via the site to respond or ask questions.

When the boys and girls have completed their time in De Doggershoek they go back into the community. It is important for us how the outside world sees De Doggershoek. That is why we bring our inside world outside, and also want to bring the outside world inside. If
